The IFSN compiled and disseminated knowledge about sustainability and nutrition and the importance of its inclusion in policy to local professionals, journalists and policymakers through events and over 60 professional seminars. Influential position papers that propel beneficial food policy. For example, the position paper about the poultry sector was used in the Parliament committee to restrain a legislation that would have negatively impacted farmers, public health and environmental pollution.
The IFSN has position itself as the safeguard of public interests in the context of food, nutrition and environment and launches campaigns holding food industry accountable for misleading the public. The IFSN is often invited to present the public interests in government committees as an opposition to industry lobbyists and generates professional reports that foster policy for the public good.
