Who We Are

The Israeli Forum for Sustainable Nutrition is a multidisciplinary professional organization of scientists and health related professionals in the field of nutritional security and food systems in Israel. We are recognized as a unique, professional, trust-worthy and capable organization with an intense net of collaborations with the Israeli government, academia, civil societies, national committees, as well as national and global leading professionals.

The Challenge

The quality of life in Israel is dependent on its food systems – the complicated web of actors and interactions that is responsible for the production, processing, transportation and consumption of foods. All affect public health, usage of natural resources (land, water and energy), the local employment market, the extent of poverty, foreign relations, and more. Despite their crucial strategic importance, our food systems are rampant with deficiencies, conflicts, opposing interests, and acute negligence.

What We Do

The Israeli Forum for Sustainable Nutrition is dedicated to advancing nutritional security and fostering a culture of healthy, sustainable nutrition throughout Israel. We achieve this by championing evidence-based government policies rooted in the principles of “One Health,” strategically planning transformative shifts in Israel’s food systems, and engaging in dialogue to elevate awareness of the critical importance of healthy and sustainable nutrition among diverse stakeholders, including the public and professionals in nutrition, environment, and public health.
