The importance of acknowledging the role of livestock in driving climate change and proposed solutions to mitigate it have been mostly overlooked by conference of the parties (COP) for years. Therefore, the side event at the last COP in Bonn at Nov. 2017 organized by several groups and headed by Green Course was a landmark event putting animal and climate on the global climate change agenda. Our Chair, Dr. Alon Shepon (on the left in the picture), an environmental scientist studying the impacts of animal based foods in the USA, was one of the participants of the panel together with prominent researchers Dr Marco Springmann and Dr Helen Harwatt.
